About

Current

Working as an interaction designer at the Department of Business and Trade. Working on on the occasional freelance projects.

My background

My journey unto UX/UI began by studying a BA in Information and Interface design at the London College of Communication, University of Arts London.

During my time at university I learned to code (html, css,js) and design motion graphics, apps, websites and interactive experiences. As a designer I’m interested in looking at how technology will shape our futures. My thesis explored the idea that people are becoming ‘disenchanted’ with technology, in part due to design patterns that encourage overuse - leading them to ‘digital detoxes’ and a myriad of other cures. I focused on how we can use design to make technology work with us rather than against us - by respecting users attention and their wellbeing.

During the summers I interned at data visualisation firm Variable.io (2018) and design agency Cog Design (2019).

Upon graduation in 2020 I took up a place in the design team at Cog design where I worked primarily on website projects, but also brand systems, social media, video editing, print work and each of which bought along new challenges and learning opportunities.

In 2022 I started as an interaction designer at the Department for Business and Trade. After 18 months, I moved to the Ministry of Justice, where I currently work in the Legal Aid space.
